Ideas

These are the concerns that keep resurfacing across different bodies of work — not fixed conclusions, but questions worth returning to.

  • Migration

The same question echoes across borders, flocks, thoughts, and glaciers: what makes something leave, and who actually gets to choose.

  • Fragments and Memories

On dividing images and memory into pieces, why nothing is remembered whole, and how a painting decides when it’s actually finished.

  • Terroir / Territory

Wine’s idea of land expressing itself, set against geopolitics and borders — belonging, ownership, and the emotional weight underneath both.

  • Erratics and Boulders

Boulders carried by ice and left standing in unfamiliar ground — a shape tied to memory, Greenland, and my father’s early sculpture.

  • Spontaneous Structures / Structured Spontaneity

The first theme I worked with, since 2014: how meaning forms before or after creation, and where control and impulse actually meet.
